Healthy Blueberry and Oat Breakfast Smoothie

TRUST THE PROCESS

You know the feeling when you create something beautiful?

Whether is is tidying up the wardrobe or pushing the weekly washing on. It’s just such a relief that the task that you were so reluctant of doing is actually giving you so much peace. So why oh why do we procrastinate so much ?

Like I said to my husband this morning, I hear your alarm every morning at 7 am but you rarely get out of bed until you hit the snooze button at least 5 times!

Me on the other hand, I usually before the alarm goes off, in-fact I don’t set an alarm unless I have a meeting. Even then I would wake up before the alarm.

USE THE ALARM IF IT HELPS YOU

This is not for you to know that I am a better person than my husband, but that we are two different person. Having an alarm helps him. It is his prompt.  I always teach my clients, to set routines that will work for them. We work together to brainstorm those routines that will keep them have a long lasting success on whichever goal they have.  That’s the benefit of working with a coach (who understand :))

As we were sitting outside in the sunny Ireland (a very rare thing) my 7 year old daughter asked if she could make a smoothie on her own. She could have asked me for a cookie recipe but she asked for a smoothie. She wanted to include blueberries. Now take note that she usually says that she doesn’t like blueberries.

But I didn’t say anything but just quickly developed a recipe on the spot for her to try. I didn’t google, I din’t copy. My own recipe made in my head and she wrote it.

10 minutes later, her eldest daughter is helping her make the smoothie and bang! It was such a delicious smoothie. Definetely one to keep.

Therefore, I decided to share it with you. We have tried it a few times since.

What did you learn from this post?  There is only one of you and you should embrace that person in you. Second is trust that your brain has the ability to do what you set out to do.

BRIDGE THE GAP TO ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS

Then why are you not reaching your goal? It is because between your motivation and your ability to do what you have in mind, there is a gap.

That gap is your prompt. You don’t have enough prompt to remind you to do the behaviour to get you to your goal.

The use of blueberries here makes it such a delicious and antioxidant rich breakfast with some fiber rich oats that will keep you fuller for longer. Add in some protein powder or a table spoon of natural yoghurt for added protein after a post workout.

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Serving Size: 2

Healthy Blueberry and Oat Breakfast Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1 banana
  • 1/2 cup blueberries
  • 4 table spoons of sunflower seeds
  • 1 cup of oats
  • 1 1/2 cup of any plant milk
  • 1 scoop of your favourite Protein powder (optional)

Instructions

  1. Put all of the ingredients in a nutribullet and pulse until a smooth and silky smoothie is obtained.
  2. Enjoy fresh!
