Hi, my name is Mira, I am originally from the beautiful Island of Mauritius. After marrying my Irish husband and few kids later I found my second home here in Ireland where I have been for the last 9 years.
In the past few years, I have become addicted to experimenting with healthy recipes and discovered that they can be just as (if not more) delicious while improving my well-being. I have developed a passion for healthy living and cooking, focusing on creating quick and healthy meals.
I am a big believer in “you are what you eat” and my goal is to try to inspire and motivate people to live healthier and open up their minds to how quick and easy healthy cooking/living can be.
Each week, I make a meal plan and stock up on loads of fresh veggies, and lean meats. These are my staples and I love to experiment with new ways to prepare them, though I do throw in some fruit, nuts, and some pulses to bulk them. I try to re-create some of my favourite recipes into a healthier version and I truly enjoy the challenge of doing so.
In 2013, after the birth of my third child, I decided to start a blog called Everyday Cooking With Mira. It was a space for me to write about what I did but it was soon ignored due to the coming of my 4th baby.
After which my health deteriorated and we changed our eating habits. Due to health issues (read my story here ), We decided to eliminate processed food and refined sugar.
I started making my bread, sauces, and even granola. My kitchen became my favourite place. My knowledge of real food deepened during this time as I learned how to plan meals for a family and shop and cook on a budget.
With new changes happening in the kitchen and healthier meals being served at our table, I began to become more and more curious about how food works in healing the body. The blog became lively once again.
Each week I share simple real food recipes and tips for simplifying the time spent in the kitchen along with some nutrition tips.
Additionally, I work on an online and On-on-one basis with Women who are struggling with their Mood and energy. I also teach cooking demos for groups such as in an office, birthday parties and schools.
