I often get asked what I use in my kitchen so I thought I would dedicate a post to share my 5 absolute favourite kitchen tools that has truly helped me to get back into a better health.
While having an incredibly busy routine with a busy family with young kids. I had had days that I just couldn’t stay on top of things.
I would just break in the middle of the kitchen or scream at the kids. It was all being too much. That’s when I started looking at ways I can use the time to sit with my family rather than spending hours in the kitchen cooking. Even when I enjoy cooking, I don’t like the kids pulling at me when I do it.
With all this in mind, I started investing in little things that make a huge difference. Every minute counts.
As a Health Coach, if I had to suggest you one thing in 2018, that will improve your health it has to be that you invest in some of these kitchens items one month at a time. There are so many recipes on everydaycookingwithmira that supports these tools that will help you in your kitchen experience.
1: Instant Pot
My first Favourite Kitchen utensil is my Instant Pot without that I don’t know how I would manage it all.
It has been a blessing to have that handy for soups, broth, soups, stews, roasting a whole chicken in or rice cooker. It also pressures cooks and steams. My favourite recipe to make when I am in a hurry is an aromatic whole poached chicken.
I simply throw in the chicken, cloves, cinnamon, ginger, garlic and onion with carrots and celery and add 2 litres of water and leave it to cook for about 1h30 minutes. And that’s it, I can add some spinach if I want a light dinner or some quinoa or roasted sweet potatoes at the end. So, this Instant Pot Is my absolute favourite aid.

2: Food Processor This High-speed food processor is brilliant and fast that can cut throw almonds, dates and make oat flour from porridge oats and almonds too. It’s brilliant when it comes to making my healthy snacks. I use this food processor to make smoothies as well and it’s simply the best.
Here are some of my favourite snack recipes made in the food processor.
3: Spice & Nut Grinder is a small gadget that you might not think will be helpful at first but believe me it’s added life to my skin and hair. I use is every single morning to grind my seed and nuts to sprinkle on top of my porridge. It takes literally 30 seconds and it provides my body the nourishment through the grinded seeds and nuts. I even sometimes grind my own spices just to make sure there are no added chemicals to the shop bought ones. You can eat the nuts whole but grinding the flax and chia seeds are important to improve the digestion process.
4: BPA FREE SPATULA is to help to scrape the edges and corners of your smoothie jug or the cake bowl. It’s simply fantastic! It’s the little help that count.
5: Measuring cups and spoons Well you know why I need this one right! It just makes life easier when trying out recipes. Once you have them you can try any recipes off the internet. (of course the one that works) This allows you the extra confidence to at least be brave to try.
I do hope you make wiser investments this year which leads you to a healthier and happier you. If you have any question know that I am only a message away.
